To Whom It May Concern (or Jay), Well I am trying to get Chris Drees, president of Mercury Marine, contact information to write him but with little success so I guess this form (as directed to by MerCruiser customer service) will have to do.

If you are looking for a profession shop to have your MerCruiser powered boat repaired or repowered as I did then D&S Marine is the best place to go. After having three (3) other MerCruiser related shops not do MerCruiser work (even after being referred to by MerCruiser web page) and or turn down the work (two other MerCruiser shops to which I had previously worked with) I ran into Jay Downing at D&S Marine - the best. I had my 1996 Crownline 225 CCR repowered with a new MerCruiser 383 Stroker.

From the moment I first spoke to Jay Downing he knew exactly what needs to be completed (they had completed a number of replacements before - experienced). We ran into additional work (engine sub-structure (engine mounts) re-build and waterline and nameplate graphics that required coordination with other shops to complete, Jay did not skip a beat. He even made great improvement recommendations - off-board freshwater flush. My treasured 1996 Crownline was treated equal to or better than that that has her still around and preforming well (they insured to cover and protect areas during fiberglass work).   I could not be happier!! I have had her out on the river for breaking in and she runs like new! I have been able to enjoy the remainder of the season on the water because Jay and team place an urgency and goal on getting things completed intime for that to occur. When I need help, I will go nowhere else.

Jay, please do not retire anytime soon, though I may (with work just completed) not need to see you soon, you will be the first I turn too.  With sincere appreciation! Hope to see you on the Maryland waterways soon. Frank Edwards P.S. - please pass on my number to the MerCruiser Rep and or others that might like to hear about my experience.
